Mark Fava MD FRCSC
Prior to completing his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Fava conducted research at the Visual Neuroscience Laboratory at McMaster University under the direction of Professor Kathryn Murphy, PhD. Dr Fava then went on to complete his ophthalmology training at Queen's University where he earned certification as an ophthalmologist through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr Fava's interest in diseases of the cornea and laser eye surgery brought him to Boston to join Dr. Melki, Founder of the Boston Eye Group, for a one year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery where he acted as an Assistant in Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Infirmary and as Associate Staff at Beth Israel Deaconess hospital.
Dr. Fava has now joined the Boston Eye Group and is an Attending Surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess hospital. His current scope of practice includes general ophthalmology, cornea, anterior segment, and refractive surgery.
